RE: EARTH FLAME FINAL TEST RESULTS

First, congratulations for having a retrofit appliance for both low mass, zero clearance fireplaces and masonry fireplaces with emissions that are below EPA's Phase 2 Standard of 5.1 g/ kg.

The test results for the most recent confirmation test on the third Earth Flame prototype are as follows.

DOORS OPEN TEST RESULTS
RUN #	TYPE	DBR T1 T2 AVG % DIF
		(kg/hr) (g/kg) (g/kg) (g/kg) (%)
CT-1	DO	5.011 2.8435 2.4952 2.6694 6.52

The test results for the five Doors Open tests conducted on 3 different Earth Flame prototypes are as follows. These results indicate that the emissions from a low mass fireplace with the EARTH FLAME installed are well below 5.1 g/kg.

DOORS OPEN TEST RESULTS
RUN #	TYPE	DBR T1 T2 AVG % DIF
		(kg/hr) (g/kg) (g/kg) (g/kg) (%)
R&D 1	DO	4.831 3.3598 3.7775 3.5687 5.85
EPA 1	DO	4.146 4.4899 4.0414 4.2657 5.26
EPA 3	DO	4.254 3.1707 3.0375 3.1041 2.15
EPA 4	DO	4.364 2.9347 2.8216 2.8782 1.96
CT-1	DO	5.011 2.8435 2.4952 2.6694 6.52
Average:	4.521 3.2972
DOORS CLOSED TEST RESULTS
EPA 4	DC	3.944 2.4655 2.8227 2.6441 6.75

The average emission factor of 3.2972 g/kg for the Doors Open tests is 35.3% below EPA's Phase 2 voluntary standard of 5.1 g/kg for fireplaces. 3.2972 g/kg also represents an 80.96% reduction from what EPA considers to be the typical average emissions from a fireplace (17.315 g/kg).
